United Airlines at Miami Airport (MIA): Terminal & Concourse H

The United Airlines terminal at Miami Airport (MIA) is the South Terminal (Concourse H). United departures and arrivals use Concourse H, so check-in, security and gates are on the South Terminal side. This guide gets you through it fast. Current for 2026.

Check-in and bag drop

Check in for United on Level 2 (Departures) of the South Terminal, where you will find counters, self-service kiosks and bag drop. As a rule of thumb, arrive about 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international one.

Gates and Concourse H

United uses Concourse H in the South Terminal. Not all of MIA's concourses are connected after security, so a transfer from one concourse to another can mean leaving the secure area and clearing security again. Allow extra time and follow the airport signage.

Arrivals and baggage claim

United arrivals come into Concourse H. International arrivals clear passport control and customs (Federal Inspection) first, then collect bags at the baggage claim; domestic arrivals go straight to the carousels. Rideshare, taxis and the free MIA Mover to the rental car center and Metrorail are reached from the arrivals level.
