Trains from and to Miami Airport
Miami International Airport is efficiently connected to Miami and its surrounding areas via the Metrorail and Tri-Rail train networks. Although MIA does not have an on-site railway station, it is directly linked to Miami Central Station (MCS), the main hub of the Miami Intermodal Center (MIC). As a result, train transfers from Miami Airport are among the most popular options for travelers seeking fast, reliable, and affordable transportation.
Miami Airport Metrorail
The Orange Metrorail Line departs from Miami Central Station and serves Allapattah, Santa Clara, Historic Overtown, Government Center, Brickell, University, and South Miami. Passengers traveling toward Brownsville, Hialeah, or the Palmetto area must change to the Green Line at Earlington Heights Station, which is the first stop after Miami International Airport.
Overall, the Orange Line is the most convenient option for traveling from Miami Airport to downtown Miami and accessing most of the city’s attractions, while the Green Line mainly serves northern areas of the city.
Our Tip: Free Wi-Fi is available onboard Metrorail trains.
The Schedule of Miami Airport Metrorail
Both the Orange and Green Lines operate daily from 05:00 am to midnight. However, service frequency varies:

* Saturdays & Sundays:

Please note that on weekends, the Orange Line operates only between Miami Intermodal Center and Earlington Heights Station.

Where Is the Railway Station at Miami Airport?
Miami Airport does not have an in-terminal train station. Instead, Miami Central Station is located approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) from the airport terminals.
The airport’s automated people mover, MIA Mover, provides direct transfers between the terminals and the railway station. MIA Mover operates 24/7, is free of charge, and reaches Miami Central Station in about 4 minutes.
To access MIA Mover, passengers should go to Level 3 of the terminals, between the Dolphin and Flamingo Garages, and follow the signs to the MIA Mover Station.
